Mike Sokoloff, Ph.D – Senior Consultant



Mike Sokoloff, Senior Consultant for The Mayer Group, is a native of Kansas City.

Mike has been consulting to organizations in the private and public sector for over twenty-five years in the areas of employee engagement, organization development and change management, union and management collaboration, organizational assessment, survey / assessment design and analysis, work redesign, and training design.

A major emphasis of Mike’s work has been in the area of employee engagement and collaboration where he has worked with joint union/management clients such as American Airlines and the Transport Workers Union, the Federal Aviation Administration and National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA), Professional Airways Safety Specialists (PASS), Goodyear Tire and the United Rubber Workers, Northern Indiana Public Service and the United Steelworkers of America. Mike worked with these and other clients to develop joint organizational change strategies, support leadership groups in implementing strategic changes, facilitate breakthrough work design, and trained hundreds of managers, union members and employees in group problem solving and collaboration designed to improve organization performance and relationships.

Mike’s work with non-union clients includes a broad range of capabilities including building and sustaining collaborative workplaces, work redesign, team building, survey design and assessment, and training in the areas of customer service, organization development, leadership development, recruiting and outplacement. His current and former clients range from small to large companies and include The Corridor Group, Women’s Clinic of Johnson County, Long Term Care Physicians, Custom Expansion Joints, Universal Manufacturing, American Cancer Society, American Business Women’s Association, Caterpillar Corporation, Exxon Chemical Company, Chevron Phillips, General Electric Lighting Division, and Universal Underwriters-Recreational Products Insurance Division.

Mike has earned Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Doctorate in Organizational Behavior from Case Western Reserve University and he is certified in Hogan Assessment Systems personality assessments. Mike has taught college courses in psychology and organizational behavior and has conducted research and published articles in the areas of psychology and organizational change.
